Despite the inclement weather forecast, the rain managed to hold off for this year’s Lameys annual charity golf day at Elfordleigh Golf & Country Club.  Lameys’ chosen charity for 2018 is Rowcroft Hospice, a local hospice providing comfort, support and specialist care to over 2,000 patients and their families across South Devon each year.

Golfers had the chance of winning a cash prize in our Beat the “Pro” competition against Lameys very own Martyn Searle (who is anything but a “Pro”!).  Congratulations to 28 golfers on the day who managed to beat Martyn on the tricky par 3 12th with one lucky recipient walking away with half the prize pot.

The golf was played in a Texas scramble format and with some very close scoring, congratulations go to the following teams:

Despite the weather there was some superb scoring.

3rd place went to the team from Michelmores Solicitors of Tom Stenner-Evans, Brian Amos, Jon Lane and Jonathan Kitchin
2nd place went to the team from Charles Darrow of Jon Clyne, James Sanders, Tom Haywood and Simon Livingston

The winning team on the day were Westcountry Land comprising John Schuttkacker, Lee Curtis, Paul Curtis and Martyn West

The longest drive went to Tom Stenner-Evans of Michelmores with Chris Ryland of Stratton Creber Commercial winning the nearest the pin.

The highlight of the day was Gary Pratt of Barclays Bank winning the nearest the tee competition on the 14th with his tee-shot going 90 degrees right off a tree and finishing beside the tee!
